THE ART OF MINIMALISM: DECLUTTER YOUR SPACE AND MIND

You know that weird feeling where we suddenly are in no mood for anything for no reason? We’re suddenly anxious, irritable and just everything around you annoys you? Don’t worry I’m not asking this because something happened or anything but it does happen for no reason, it’s like being a pregnant person for a while or being moody and this is the moment we can realise how much they go through. Anyhoo! When all of this is happening do you ever question yourself of why this is happening?

Suddenly everything is a mess, your mind ain’t right, nothing is pulled together and even your environment is physically messy and then just one after the other it gets worse and worse? Relatable? Well this is where we need to learn two things, to go to zen mode, you need to be minimalistic and to be minimalistic it’s necessary to clean or declutter your brain as well as your space, but why? Let’s learn that.

“Clear your clutter, clear your mind.” – Magdalena Vandenberg. You know how old people say that our minds are like moulds, the result depends on the environment and people. Now this simple rule actually plays a major role in our daily lives. So let’s say it’s obvious that our home is not a storage space but if you keep it like one it automatically reverses back and the next thing you know you don’t know how to clean it up or how it even started.  When you dump the clutter from your life you have space for positivity and it also gives you a fresh perspective, it’s just like taking a break and going on a vacay to just figure out yourself.

  1. LESS STRESS, ANXIETY AND MORE POSITIVITY

How can clearing space affect your anxiety and stress levels? Well if your environment is piled up your brain registers you have to clean them, the more you delay the more you think I have a lot to do but I have no time. So having unchecked documents or emails, a lot of clothes around can increase your stress levels which can also trigger your anxiety. So clear up your stuff and clear up your mind.

  1. LESS DIRT MORE PRODUCTIVITY

Now hold on, these two have nothing in common so how will decluttering improve your productivity? Well you see if you’re working intensely and suddenly you see a pile of clothes unfolded and not kept well or all your accessories disorganised and like at some point you’re unable to find your things it creates a distraction and the next thing you know you’re asking yourself, wasn’t I working? So that proves less cluttering gives more productivity.

  1. LEARNING TO DECLUTTER = ORGANISED

If you learn to declutter your space from time to time you achieve a lot of goals. Let’s say you get rid of things that you have had for a long time and don’t even use that gives you empty space to fill up your essentials. Once you declutter stuff you don’t need you’re more organised and now since you like the clean apace you will do the bare minimum. It will create a new sensation in your brain like oh I just got rid of stuff so let’s take only what we need, so it implies more space and less money spent. You become more minimalistic.

Once you declutter you have a clear track of what needs to be refilled when, which stuff is where and most importantly it’s just organised and you save time. And because of all these changes you slowly learn the art of minimalism, like you’ll spend on decor but just right, now that the space is clean there is more fresh air and sunlight. And it just gives you more vibes like okay I want to try something new and you stick to a schedule. With less stuff you buy more quality items and all in all with everything organised and no useless stuff around you’re more active, productive and mindful.

There you have it folks three sure shot ways to achieve the art of minimalism by decluttering your space and mind. Let me know in the comments if it helped and I will see you in the next one! Toodeloo!
