Because sometimes the only therapy you need is a couch, a snack, and something that makes you believe in love again.
“Unpopular opinion: self-care doesn’t always look like a green smoothie and a 5am run. Sometimes it looks horizontal on the couch at 7pm, snack of questionable nutritional value in hand, watching two people fall in love for the hundredth time and feeling absolutely no shame about it. In fact, I’d argue that’s the highest form of self-care. And I’m here to help you do it right.”
- HEARTSTOPPER
Series Coming-of-age Netflix

Right, so imagine every cheesy romantic trope you’ve ever loved — the lingering glances, the accidental hand touches, the “oh no he’s looking at me again” panic — and now imagine it done so beautifully that you, a fully grown adult, will tear up over two teenage boys sharing a jacket. That’s Heartstopper. Based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series, it follows Charlie and Nick — two boys who meet at school and slowly, tenderly, inevitably fall for each other. It’s not just a love story, it’s a warm hug of a show that somehow manages to be wholesome and heartfelt without ever feeling naive. Fair warning: you will finish all the seasons back to back and then just sit there, staring at the ceiling, feeling things.
Verdict: Stream it. Stream it right now. And have tissues, because even if you think you won’t cry — you will.
- EMILY IN PARIS
Series Rom-com Netflix

Look — is Emily in Paris realistic? Absolutely not. Does Emily somehow land a dream job in Paris, wear head-to-toe designer outfits every day, and constantly find herself in the middle of the most dramatic love triangles Europe has ever seen? Yes. Does any of that matter? Not even a little bit. This show is essentially a croissant — it’s buttery, indulgent, a little over the top, and you’ll consume three episodes before you even realize what happened. Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) is an American marketing executive who moves to Paris without speaking a word of French, fumbles gloriously through every cultural clash, and somehow charms the entire city. It’s chaotic, it’s chic, it’s the kind of show you put on when you want to feel like your life could also have a dramatic Parisian makeover. Also, the fashion alone is worth the subscription.
Verdict: Stream it — with a glass of wine, preferably. Oui oui.
- PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION
Movie Friends-to-lovers Netflix

Okay, brace yourself for this one because it is going to ruin you — in the best possible way. Based on Emily Henry’s beloved novel, this is the story of Poppy and Alex — two total opposites who somehow became best friends and, for a decade, made a tradition of taking one trip together every summer. Until one trip changed everything and they stopped speaking altogether. The movie weaves between past and present as Poppy tries to salvage the most important friendship of her life, and honestly? You’ll be rooting for them so hard that you might actually start drafting a text to your own best friend mid-film. It’s funny, it’s achingly romantic, it’s the friends-to-lovers formula executed with so much emotional precision that it hits like a gut punch wrapped in sunshine. This one lingers.
Verdict: Stream it — but clear your afternoon because you will not be moving until the credits roll.
- JUST GO WITH IT
Movie Comedy Netflix

Now if the previous pick made you emotional, this one is your palette cleanser — and what a palette cleanser it is. Adam Sandler plays Danny, a plastic surgeon who’s been wearing a fake wedding ring for years to avoid commitment. When he finally meets someone he actually likes (played by Brooklyn Decker), he gets himself into a completely unhinged situation where his employee Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) has to pretend to be his soon-to-be ex-wife. On a Hawaii trip. With fake kids. What could go wrong? Everything. Absolutely everything. And it is glorious. This is a classic comfort-watch — big laughs, great chemistry between Sandler and Aniston, and enough absurdity to make you forget about whatever was stressing you out. Also, Jennifer Aniston in this film is a certified moment.
Verdict: Stream it — when you need to laugh until your stomach hurts. No overthinking required.
And there you have it — four picks that cover every corner of the feel-good spectrum. From coming-of-age sweetness to Parisian chaos to a best-friendship that broke your heart and a fake marriage gone hilariously wrong. There’s really no wrong choice here. Pick one, settle in, and let the weekend do what weekends are supposed to do.
Now go — the couch isn’t going to sit on itself.
