You remember how difficult it was to learn new things when we were kids, right? Everyone moved at their own pace. Some of us were extremely bright, while others were average, but it was always an issue when we were afraid of getting lower marks. We would eventually improve, but something would shift in our thinking and we would never understand one thing. Can you guess what it was? It was to understand that “your mental health journey is unique, and it’s okay.”
A single sentence can have a big impact on your thoughts. But does anyone actually do it? How can you stay positive when horrible things happen? Knowing you’re not flawless and that it’s okay to make mistakes? Can you go back in time and change the past? I know these are obvious things for everyone to ask, but people forget that not everyone’s the same. So, while changing the world is not an option, changing yourself so that other people are inspired by your thinking is.
So here I am unlocking the secrets to take care of your beautiful mind in a very unique way.
You know when you come across a stage in your life when you suddenly realise ‘What the hell have i been doing?’ Suddenly you feel guilty that since you were hurt, you have become the cause to hurt other people. You push them away, you say crappy things, you have no hold of your emotions and personality. Honestly thinking that this is the worst case scenario. This, when exactly this happens there are two methods you can immediately do to settle your mind and go into a ‘Zen mode’.
- CREATE A DEBT LEDGER
As strange as it may sound, it works. And it’s a well-known fact that when people are depressed, doing something crazy helps their minds feel better. So, getting back to the point, a debt ledger is something where you analyse what you’re guilty of and write it down in the ledger, which is your first step, my friend. And don’t worry, no one needs to know about this one because you can hide it anywhere you like. Don’t forget to write their names once you’ve written all of the entries on one side of the ledger. (Shhh.. they can also be codewords) Now is the moment to be brave. On the other side of the ledger, you must analyse and write down what remedies you can use to correct everything. And remember to do something because you want to, not because you have to. You can clear the debt ledger one by one, or you can categorise them so that you do the one that needs to be done right away and take your time with the others.
You’ll start to feel better as your debt ledger shrinks, which will put a smile on your face. Oh, and you may also keep a ledger for yourself of who disturbed you and what you plan to do or say to them because you are not a weakling in your opinion. (Nothing violent though)
- MINDFULNESS
Whatever the situation, this one will come to your rescue. One of the simplest approaches is to mentally transport yourself to another environment in order to think clearly.
Mindfulness is not a joke; if you practise being mindful, your life may change. Take some time during your day to analyse and pay attention to each and every thought that comes to mind, without judging yourself.
You ask yourself questions, and your answers will reveal themselves. This reduces depression and anxiety at any time. In my experience, the best technique is to practise yoga or simply focus on my breathing. It’s not as simple as it appears. You will be disturbed at first, but allowing your thoughts to flow by just knocking down the wall of fear will greatly improve your mental health.
That’s all there is to it, guys! These are the two most natural ways to keep track of your mental health in a comfortable and confident manner. Let me know in the comments which one you enjoyed best or what topic you’d like to hear about on the next one. Toodeloo!
