Have you ever had that feeling where you really got hooked to a particular TV show and the next thing you know they have cancelled it? You have no idea why it has been done because in your mind the show was absolutely legit.
There were various platforms where this has been done and my mind was like whyyyyyyyy? My mind kept thinking — does the writer feel way too low about himself/herself? Are OTT platforms stupid? Why did the audience not give much attention to this?
At some point, I actually rewatched these shows just to feel good… and then got sad all over again by the end of it.
Now let’s check out the Netflix list of the shows that got cancelled too soon.
THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB

This one hurt.
It was wholesome, comforting and honestly felt like a warm hug after a long day. A group of young girls starting a babysitting business while dealing with friendships, family and growing up — simple, right? But it was done so well.
It wasn’t overdramatic, it wasn’t trying too hard, it just felt real. And maybe that’s what made it special.
The characters had depth, the stories had heart, and it was one of those shows you could watch without feeling emotionally exhausted.
And yet… cancelled.
Sometimes I feel like shows that are soft and genuine don’t survive long because they don’t create “noise.” But honestly, not everything needs to be chaotic to be good.
LOCKWOOD AND CO.

Now this one? Criminal.
A perfect mix of mystery, supernatural chaos and British sarcasm — what more do you want?
The show follows teenage ghost hunters dealing with actual dangerous spirits, not just vibes. It had tension, humour, chemistry and a storyline that was clearly building towards something bigger.
And just when you’re getting invested… boom. Cancelled.
The worst part? It ended in a way that made you feel like something huge was about to happen.
I’m still waiting. For what? I don’t know. Closure, maybe.
GIRLBOSS

Okay this one was chaotic, but in a fun way.
It’s about a rebellious, slightly messy girl trying to build her own business. She’s not perfect, she’s not always likable, but that’s what made it interesting.
Not every main character has to be polished and inspiring. Sometimes they’re confused, impulsive and figuring life out as they go — which felt very real.
But I guess people didn’t connect with her enough?
Or maybe the timing was off?
Either way, it had potential to grow, and we never got to see that.
PARTNER TRACK

This one was drama, ambition and chaos all rolled into one.
A young lawyer trying to make partner in a high-pressure firm while juggling relationships, expectations and her own identity — it had all the elements of a solid binge-watch.
It gave us corporate drama, romance, friendships and just enough mess to keep things interesting.
And just when things started getting complicated and actually good…
Cancelled. Of course.
Because why would we get closure, right?
Final Thoughts
At this point, starting a new show feels like a commitment issue.
Because what if I get attached? What if I invest my time, my emotions, my snacks… and then it just disappears?
Some shows end because they’ve told their story.
But these?
These felt unfinished.
And maybe that’s why they stay with us longer — because we’re still imagining what could’ve been.
So tell me — which show cancellation still annoys you till date? Or are you also scared to start something new now? 👀
