“Creativity is a flow that you must never give up on.” Did you know that on a daily basis we do a lot of things that are a necessity to becoming a creative person? In general we think that we think we imply, we try, we innovate and boom there’s something creative. But no! There is a line between being intellectual and creative. Yes we think out of the box to achieve something, yes we apply different methods but for creativity to come into you it requires passion, the flow, the willpower to not give up because it’s not happening the way you think because remember even the greatest paintings happened because of a splash!

Having creativity and being a creative person can also be different because you know that to merge those two you need to look inside yourself and find your way. Otherwise without our own world we wouldn’t write great novels, think of something unthinkable, create something out of crap and most importantly we wouldn’t force ourselves to do what we want to achieve every single day even though someone says we will turn into a failure.
The only thing that will help is simple small practices which will keep your creativity flowing. So let’s discover some simplistic ways of how you can use yoga off the mat for creativity.
- DO SOMETHING AGAIN?
We all heard that practice makes a man perfect. So in a situation where you continuously listen to a song or keep reading the same thing, you remember it right? Except that makes you a parrot but not a creative person. So build a creative habit like you will write at least 1 part of the song everyday or that you will read 10 pages of a book everyday. By this your inner creativity calls for you because then one line is better than the other and the cycle keeps going and boom you have a song.
It may seem weird and sometimes you may get frustrated that omg I’m not able to think of a good starting line but once it comes because you’re repetitively thinking about it, then it flows with a flair.

- DO I ASK?
Now this may seem crazy but one step can be connected to the other. So let’s say you don’t feel like writing something but it means the world to you, it’s a demotivating vibe and you’re just well tired and people may think that the following step is crazy but it does do something. Affirmation! Yes you read that right, the right affirmations will help you develop a lot. So in the above situation you can affirm something like: ‘I am becoming a good writer’ or “I am a hardworking person’ or something that you specifically want to focus on.
Fun fact: creativity is not something where you go by the books. It’s something where you make mistakes and you grow from it, you break the rules to make the best at what you are, you take risks to make sure you don’t regret it and most of all you do everything because you want to create a history out of it.
So it may seem the above solution looks silly but trust me it works.

- TAKE A CHILL PILL
Everyone has experienced this at one point or the other. The fear of not doing the job right? The fear of omg what if my business fails? The fear of am I going in the right path? And so on. We get lost by just distracting ourselves with fear and ego. Not that fear is not important, it is but there is a limit. Fear helps you take risks, helps you grow because of the uncertainty but beyond all of that it’s also important to recognise your work and reward yourself.
When you’re with an important project you hold your breath, you work recklessly and hold on to it and so it’s important to try your best on whatever you do and let go of what’s to come out of it. It’s very hard to be in a space of creativity when there is extra pressure and it’s your professional career but for that you have to create your own bubbles like journaling, meditation, working out or whatever you love to do.

- BREATHE INTO SELF LOVE
Two very good points: nothing like self analysing while meditating and there is also nothing in life like knowing to love yourself. Through breathing and meditation that is pranayama you do get peace, clarity and a sense of freedom. It helps you to calm while making decisions, helps you to know what is right for you and while we do all the hard work you treat yourself right physically and mentally. Not much to say here but pranayama has a literal meaning of breath of your soul and that is because without breathing you won’t live and without loving yourself you wouldn’t know who you are and what is your purpose.

There you have it folks some simplistic yet minimalistic methods to get your creative juices flowing and using methods to apply yoga off the mat. Let me know if you liked the article in the comments section and I will see you in the next one. Toddeloo!
