SELF CARE TIPS FOR BUSY MIND AND SCHEDULE

“ No harm and no foul for engaging in all the activities daily because it’s live, but you’re selfish if you take a break and take care of yourself. Named selfish are we?.” I wrote this quote one day realising that today in this present moment if you’re not competitive or updated or outgoing enough you can’t survive? Well that is where I tend to disagree. I mean I don’t buy how much we have been influenced lately with everything going around in the world that we unintentionally go into the direction we don’t want to.

To be very honest there was a point where people actually told me that you know you have to keep going even when you want to give up and I did not deny that completely. Later I realised the advice was good but no one told me that there was a line where you should stop. With the people around us and everybody working continuously and with all the competition it was insane how much my mind was overworked and at one point I did not give a damn about anything and put a stop to my work. Consistency is the key and dedication is the lock but to combine them your mind needs to be equally calm.

So for all the worked up, busy people with busy minds out there here are some tips that will give you a break from everything physically, mentally and emotionally.

  1. PHYSICALLY

When we get up and start our schedule there are a lot of habits that happen subconsciously and we do not even pay attention to it. For example: brushing your teeth, eating, working out and so much more. But who knew that paying attention to little habits makes a huge difference?

Now even though you work, you walk and you give your body food because you have to eat is not enough. Moving your body even if it is for 30 minutes as a full fledged work out helps you relieve stress and anxiety which is great for your body because there are 2 benefits here: your mind is at peace for sometime and you stay fit.

Eating right is also important. I’m not saying that you don’t eat what you like, I’m saying add a little more healthy diet life leafy vegetables, dry fruits, fruits and so on and gradually increase it. And with this you get interconnected with the physical shape of your body and mind too. You’ll feel more fresh, healthy and alert.

  1. EMOTIONALLY

Emotions are something that are neglected by us every day. We have good days, we have bad days and we have rough days but in all of this we do forget sometimes that it is important to acknowledge your feelings. Because if you don’t even try to think about them it can lead to mental and physical health problems.

For emotional self care you can start by putting in the habit of saying ‘no’ to others. You know most of us when we join work we think : ‘omg, I’m new at this it’s okay to take more work, I won’t learn otherwise and before you know it you’re overworking and you forget your goals.’ so learn the line in between till you can take it and for the rest don’t stress, just say NO. other than this you can put in a self care time schedule to your routine. Now this will help to reflect on yourself and even though we know that taking special time out is difficult, it’s necessary to do this just so you don’t lose yourself and also know that it’s okay if you just have to be alone for sometime. Which makes me come to my next point.

Changing your mood by changing your environment always helps and you know our emotions need you to take a break, go to your favourite place, do what you want and be happy amidst passing through all the chaos around you.

  1. MENTALLY

We know there are not just one but a thousand reasons to take care of our mental health and even though we know that we don’t do it. There are very rare people in this world who understand the meaning of keeping a balance for your mental peace. Busy schedules are perfectly normal and because we don’t have much time to think about mental health these small tips may help you.

Decompress, know what you want, pamper yourself and communicate your rants through ways that you’re comfortable with.

We’re never too busy to take a 5 minute break so during that time decompress your mind by simply taking long deep breaths for a few minutes. Know what you want to do, perhaps cooking, reading a book, meditating or just going out for just 10 minutes. Pamper yourself by telling yourself that even though your goal is far you still achieved something and that is a small yet big step by just eating out, having ice cream or maybe with spa and nails. Communication is difficult when it comes to imbalance of your mental peace so write out all the negativity into a paper, visit your therapist, go out with your friends, take a break and do anything but overthink.

There you have it folks self care tips for the modern busy schedule. As I have a busy schedule myself it took me a long time to get into this practice but once it became a routine it was easier to know what I needed at that time and what I should do in order to reach my goals peacefully.
