CURL UP WITH A GOOD BOOK: OUR BEST PICKS – PART 5

Ahh books! Books! And Books! Can never get enough of them.it’s just in my eyes the thing about books is that according to your choices of genre they can be a balance for everything. I mean when I read a mystery novel I feel that I’m the detective out to solve the crimes, with a self development book I feel like the CEO of my creation which I’m gonna create the next minute, With a drama or sci-fi I feel OMG I need to know what kind of magic I can possess. With a romantic novel or dark romance Oh I have so many crushes that I can’t just choose one. I mean sure a partner can keep you up all night but a book can make you think of scenarios, make you feel everything and just go on with it where you will not take a break until the last page is over. So book lovers or book beginners here are your next 4 options to either fill up your library or build one.

  1. KING OF WRATH – ANA HUANG

Yes, I know what you’re thinking that I may be obsessed with her and well you wouldn’t be wrong. The men in her books are described as the dream men for real life women and believe me it’s tough to make a choice out of them and if they ever make a movie out of these books, dear lord save the women. So the king of wrath is a spicy story between Vivian Lau and Dante Russo. Dante is ruthless and arrogant while Vivian is a perfect woman be it as how she is as herself, as a daughter or as a partner. Dante was a billionaire CEO who never planned to marry until he was blackmailed by his newest enemy and now his only goal was to destroy the evidence and his betrothal but couldn’t if he wanted to because he had her. Meanwhile Vivian grazed herself and accepted her ruthless husband as a fate while she never knew it would turn out to be a beautiful love story. A must read if you’re just wanting to try.

  1. THE THEORY OF (NOT QUITE) EVERYTHING – KARA GNODDE

Meet the most unique combinations of the sibling squid. Art and Mimi Brotherton, siblings and housemates connected to each other after their parents tragic deaths. And say as every sibling story they are the exact opposite of each other. Art is a mathematical genius and mostly relies on logic, while Mimi is the one who prefers to follow her heart. Art believes if you keep the calculations and logic right every problem can be solved and he means everything. Taking an interest Mimi requests Art to find her love and Art agrees but just on one condition that she should stick to the mathematical principles and she agrees. While Art applies his maths, Mimi meets Frank who is funny, cute, spontaneous and is also a mathematician. Mimi may have liked him but Art was not even a single percent convinced with him from the first meeting. One side grows the feeling and the otherside grows the mistrust and this happened till the siblings reached a breakover point. Art was sure something did not add up about Frank and was determined to prove it. This book is funny, wholesome, quirky and could be true love in all forms.

  1. LOCKE AND KEY : VOLUME 1: WELCOME TO THE LOVECRAFT- JOE HILL

Aah! This is what some people recognise now as a popular series by Netflix depicting Locke and Key. Ya, the famous keyhouse we mentally want to visit and believe me it is one of my dreams and a thousand times have I thought that I should have a mind key. Anyhoo Joe Hill released this comic in 2008 and was one the New york’s best sellers. Following their fathers murder in a violent home invasion the Locke children return to their childhood home, the keyhouse. Grieving for her husband Nina seems outside of the zone having her best friend as a wine bottle to even see that the keyhouse is not what it seems. The elder kids Tyler and Kinsey aren’t any better, they hate the fact that their friends are not there anymore. There are too many doors and too many unanswered questions and the elders do not care but the youngest one Bode is all in for a treat he finds a friend in an empty well and a new toy, a key that gives him hours of spirited entertainment. But soon horror things unravel about the keyhouse and they know that not every door is supposed to be opened but oh it will be. What’s right and what’s wrong we don;t know but how it goes is all we are interested in. This book series is one of my favourites and you should definitely try it out if you’re not interested in mysteries, self help, romance or murders.

  1. 12 RULES FOR LIFE: AN ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS – JORDAN B PETERSON

Do you sometimes feel that we should have certain rules or boundaries that should be permanent? Let’s say you have a kid and you know how your mom raised you but you want to be you and you want that your kid should like you and sometimes be your friend but parents and parenting both are hard to achieve and so basically applying some rules like listen to your teenager, help them no matter what and be friends when needed works rather than go to you room, this is not your age to do this, feelings go away, right? And this book gives you a solution for your entire life. 12 simple rules, no bullshit and relatable to your real life and hence the title says an antidote to chaos. Jordan is a clinical psychologist and he gives out 12 realistic principles and reminds us how we are the destiny of the world in the future. Like how we behave with others or what we teach others to move forward. It’s surely recommended if you want an antidote for your chaos.
